A systematic phonics tutoring program teaching children to read and spell

Cracking the Code brings together knowledge gained from the University of London, SPELD SA, University of Florida Literacy Institute and it is aligned to the Jolly Phonics scope and sequence.

Studies at the University of London are based on research by Dr Duncan Milne, leading educational neuropsychologist, author of How to Teach the Brain to Read.

Phonics is widely recognised as the most effective way to teach children to read and spell.
Phonics involves matching individual letters or groups of letters to the sounds of spoken English.
When a child is taught the letter(s) to sound correspondences, eg s, a, t and p, they can start to blend the sounds to create words taps, pat, pats, sat.
